Reg No. E238 BTL white coupe
This was my old mk1 with quite a few mods was wondering what it was upto now, if anybody knows or he is on here, the guy who bought it off me was gonna use it for track which it was setup for.
Its a small world. Its just screwed to the little flap that comes off the plastic bumper. I wish I still had this car when it was like this it was brilliant.

Join the queue, already done to Limey's car and to mine.
Two small bolts through the plastic under the bumper, nice and simple and holds very well.
It even held on at 114mph (GPS verified) with no problems.

Looks neat at the side & completely clears the car's "mouth" for good air flow
I think several more of us may follow the example

Am i the only one that thinks it looks daft with the plate there?
If you want to keep the front vent clear mount a UK plate above it on the bumper face.

Yep.
TBH I've always been of 2 minds about that positioning but I must have sat for about an hour in front of the car trying to figure out where to stick the plate. I did put it on the bumper face but a proper uk legal plate doesn't look right there either.
Stock position's probably still the best but I moved it to accomodate my driving lights and a square plate just makes the car look like it's got buck teeth (tried that as well).
PS mines stuck on with double sided sticky tape but hasn't fallen off yet.

Nope, I think it looks daft as well IMHO there's nothing wrong with Mr T's location. As for the airflow, I've had mine round a sprint track in the summer (and I wasn't hanging about ) temp gauge never moved
Chiming in with another "my plate lives there too" post, shifted it a few years back after one of the original mounts broke...
Sorry Ad, yours doesn't ring a bell, but according to the DVLA it's still taxed so it's out there somewhere...

I quite like the plates mounted on the side.. not sure if it's totally my cup of tea though. It's a struggle, I've tried out pretty much every location, here's the current location on the 1.5 which I'm not overly happy with:
standard location which I also wasn't overly happy with:
Square plate:
Plate in window
Plate on bumper (excuse the split, do NOT tow off the towing eye)

Quick note on this, I'm keeping mine away from stock location as I have an extra rad for the chargecooler.. anything that can aid air flow/cooling is a good move in my book.
You've missed one Ollie. I had mine stuck on the front of the bumper, I cant find a photo with the number plate on, but you can see the velcro on the front.
I'll try and back the charger out the garage for a phoyo of that tomorrow
Liking that photo Tim!
Actually, whilst your here, have you got a link to your famous thumbs up photo? I've lost it and want it back Other members would also benefit from seeing it!
