How often do you drive your `2?

I have gone for four days without seeing any mk1 or mk2 MR2s on the road. Sat here thinking, mine has been off at 3S for a while, same as last year so I`ll probably have about 6-7 months max out of it on the road in 2012 and then it will be off for a load of bodywork again after the summer.

So whos is garaged?

Who uses theirs as a daily driver?

To commute to work/personal use or both?

Because I am deffo sure I`m seeing less and less of them around, I hope I spot more over the spring/summer!

I have to say aswell, I cant wait to get back behind the wheel of my rev1 when the sun is shining!

Drive mine about once a month, recently thats been round the block as its got a water leak but when its fixed I will use it for a long drive on weekends once or twice a month. I dont use it for short journeys as it never gets up to temperature.

6 months over summer only Apr-Sep, although coming back in March this year as I can't wait. In the garage over winter, just started it up today to hear it and make me smile haha...

Hi Dan

I'm afraid we will see still less and less MR2s, as they're getting old now. I use mine about fortnightly (I try not to use it less than that to avoid siezures). When I do take it out I love every minute!!

Ive done 3500 miles in the past 6 years! it gets taxed in the summer and ill use as much as i can when the suns out and now it gets used like once a fortnight if its dry..

I use a halfords battery/maintenance charger. Cost 38 quid.

Thats mine. Battery reconditioning feature for dead batteries and charge maintainance for long down periods. Its rather loud though.


Mine is a track car. im involved with it 1 or 2 weeks out of 4, which may or may not involve a 5 minute drive to where i work on it or to get fuel for it. Otherwise once every 2 or 3 months its unleashed on track. If i had more time and money it'd be every other weekend!

Done an oil change, filter and plugs and took it for a spin after 10 months. Forgot what an externally gated 35R, 700HP+ with RL TC banging away in an MR2 felt and sounded like!
