[Mk2] [Turbo] oil leak!

Post by A.BLAKE »

Took the new 2 out for a good drive over the weekend. When I got back noticed she's down on oil and there's a lot of oil on the alternator? Obviously leaking from somewhere can't see where. Any ideas?

Sounds like the rocker cover if its covering the alternator

Not a big job, get genuine gaskets and use gasket sealent on the corners as thats where they seem to leak, best get it done sooner rather then later otherwise you will end up buying a new alternator aswell

did you seal the cam corners with a blob of high temp silicone?...thats a common place to leak from and onto...will kill the alt in no time, can also leak and pool on top of the gbox
