Hi folks, Haven't drivent the MR2 for a while and now the ABS warning light is illuminated on the dash. Have taken to 2 local garages for a plug in but the code readers can't communicate with the car? It is a UK rev4 and i found an online guide for reading codes using the wire pin (i'm unable to post a link to the post) however the guide is for rev2 and when i follwed the gudielines the P/S warning would flash codes not the ABS which remained constant. I noticed my abs warning light was in a different location to the one on the rev2 also.
So does anyone have a guide on how to read the code correctly on the rev4 model pls.
I imagine it's a dodgy sensors perhaps as the brakes feel fine.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Regards Fraz
thanks thats what i have tried - so it makes no difference reading codes for the different rev of mr2?
it states at the bottom of the code list always on = ecu. Does the abs have a stand alone ecu? regards Fraz
are you sure you bridge Tc + E1 and not the usual TE1 + E1
Yes the ABS has its own ECU
All codes are the same no matter what REV you have
You more than likely have a duff sensor but would need to know the code for which one or the ABS rings have rusted or covered in gunk
Thanks again alan - yes i did tc to e1 as per the stephenmanson online guide but i just get a flashing p/s warning and the abs light stays constant so i assume the abs ecu is going to be the logical first port of call?
