Red MR2's what years, what revs and what codes

Quite a simple one here really.

After some help here in diagnosing the colour on my engine lid.

The engine lid i have is from a Rev2 turbo but has been fitted to my Red Rev1 and they are quite clearly a different shade of red.

If my engine lid is from a Rev2 is it fair to assume it is the 3E5?

Is the red on the Rev 2 the same all the way through the Rev ranges?

Any confirmation would be lovely!

There's Super Red (3E5) and Crimson Red (3J6)..

yeah, 3E5 is rev2+. Crimson (3J6) is rev 1

as far as I know there are only 2 reds, 3J6 and 3E5

I think it was still 3E5 Craig, defo called super red II on the can, so it must be the same if its got the same code?

When I had my red mr2 resprayed they used 'b' shade (ie blue shade) from Dupont as the other paint from another supplier was way out

Agree mate 3j6 is crimson red, 3e5 is super red. I don't know of any other colour codes for mr2 reds
