Anyone using Data Loggers?

I see i also attached to the windscreen with suckers, so that doesn't seem viable for track days?

i do apologise, that was a typo. i meant £350. was rather drunk when i wrote that. The suckers are perfectly adequate. It doesnt fall off, ever.

But isn't the limiting factor the speed of summat, is it the gps, I think 5-10hz is the minimum for a decent circuit log isn't it?

We use Race Technology DL1 dataloggers, but these are very much out of your budget. We actually do a version with no external inputs (apart from RPM) for £200 cheaper than the retail price, but you must be registered for the MR2 Championship or MR2 Super GT race series in order to buy it.

On the subject of my 'vague' MK2 MR2, are you heading anywhere down south for any events, if you wouldn't mind just hopping into my car for 5 mins to give me an opinion on it?

We use one of these too, we also have the additional input module that allows measuring of RPM plus 4 analogue inputs. Doesn't have to be used with suckers either. As it comes it just needs to be somewhere with line of sight for the GPS but you can use it with an external antenna and stash the box wherever you want.

What are you looking for exactly?

My recomendation is RaceChrono combined with a Qstarz xt-818 10hz bluetooth gps reciever. You can run RaceChrono on your mobile

Thanks Dan. I don't have a compatible phoen for RaceChrono but the Qstarz 818 lookins very interesting, I wonder why it's so cheap compared to the 1000ex.

What am I after? Well, something that will show me my lines and speed. Oh, and l** t**mes, for review after the event.

If you save the files and upload them to a laptop they are big enough to see lines, bit difficult on a mobile screen... The speed and lap times are of course easily accesible and depending where you are i mount my phone so i can check lap times in real time

You will only need something like these for it to workm they go for pennies
