[Mk2] [NA] Turbo lid rain tray modification

Post by south_wales_MR2 »

Hi there,

I've got a Turbo engine lid in SMG with the raintray attached, and wondered if the rain tray would fit my N/A engine lid? I haven't got time to have the turbo one resprayed to match my car at the moment and wondered if anyone had adapted the raintray to fit an N/A lid?

As you can see by my name, I live in South Wales and if it isn't raining, its p!ssing it down!

Thanks

The N/A rain tray are welded to the lid. The only reason the tubby is screwed on it that the lid is like a fibre glass material

As above ,the rain-tray is part of the engine lid on the N/A
it seems you are trying to prevent the rain from drowning the alternator ?

you could temporarily pop rivet a section onto the N/A lid, similar to what the beams engined cars have ?
