De-Cat Pipe Power Gain/Loss

Post by AL FLACK »

Hi,

I was going to remove my cat & replace with a De-Cat pipe. I have heard different opinions, Some people say power gain others say power loss.

Has any body fitted a de-cat pipe to a rev 3 N/A ?? What do you think of the performance ??

ps I currently have a mongoose cat back system.

Thanks

Arleen :D

A decat pipe can possibly reduce your torque if its wrongly designed (usually by "custom" zorst places) as NAs need a certain amount of backpressure. But if its from some1 like mongoose it should be fine as it will be tested and sized accordingly to provide a performance advantage unlike a local custom zorst place who'll just knock up a drainpipe.
