Coolant leak

Post by archangel »

Hi guys I need your help. Just pulled up at home after driving for about half an hour and the engine was hissing. Opened it and could see steam was spraying out of the expansion bottle hose and when that stopped I could still hear a hissing of steam coming from somewhere low down towards the centre of the engine bay. Can you guys advise me what the problem could be and what I should check. The oil cap isn't covered in mayo so it doesn't look like a blown head gasket. The radioator is at the front of the car right? Couldn't hear any hissing from there. Not sure where steam could be escaping from the area I was hearing it from.

Hey guess what. It was in fact a coolant pipe. Was from where it was pinched by the jubilee clip. Pulled it tighter and refastened it and it's all good for now until I replace the hose on the weekend. Thanks.
