Is it easy to polish crank or does it have to be a specialist job, can I do it with a dremel ? And has anyone done this.

do not attempt to polish your crank with a dremel!! Take it to a machine shop and ask them to do it, last thing you want is crank problems, trust me its worth your money to get it done professionally!

and why might you want to polish it in the first place? This process is used to reduce the chance of a stress fracture in highly modded engines - You could easily polish out all the casting imperfections but if you do you MUST have it fully balanced afterwards.
