brought some 10cm 3012cf speakers for the rear, opening the box tonight was going to fit them but they come with some big resistors of some description what are these for take it they go on the postive? what do they do? :)

Capacitors: The supplied 100 microfarad capacitors can be used to gradually roll-off bass below 400 Hz. The capacitors are installed in-line on the positive lead of each speaker.


there capacitators.... whats ^^^ translate to in simple terms not as much base goes through them?

Its a cheap high pass filter.
Thats exactly what they do - only let higher frequencies through, in this case rolls off below 400Hz - frequencies below 400Hz will still be present but at lower power than before.

You need these for a smaller driver like the 10cm speakers, because 10cm speakers simply wont be able to reproduce those low frequencies properly, especially if amped, and will distort.

TBH though mate, I wouldnt worry about those speakers too much - they are a b1tch to get to, and will make minimal difference - a decent set of 5.25 or 6.5inch components up front with an amp supplying >50WRMS will make a much bigger difference.
