[Mk2] [Generic] poor reception with relocated aerial

Post by HighwayStar »

As above really. The audio place put in a windscreen type aerial behind the rear grill (rev1) at my request with a new head unit but the reception isn't good (I pod control is awesome though). I've seen posts here where it's been accomplished in a similar fashion with good results. Any ideas to share? I know nothing about audio and haven't been back yet but could we add another aerial say on the screen this time to boost signal?
As I say ideas welcome.
Thx

R.

they dont pick up very well as they have a smaller area compared to stock, also they are not fitted in a high location like stock

so really it makes a poor aerial location, you cant expect it to be as good as stock...

Well it's now much much better after more earthing. Could be better yet so may still add another to aid it. Maybe just in the rear window?

i just fitted one to the back bulkhead of the boot in mine, behind the carpet. Reception is good, I earthed it to an existing bolt.
