That grille below the rear bumper between the tailpipes

Post by N9THX »

I'm slowly but surely taking my Rev3 Turbo back to standard and the massive twin exhaust is the next thing to go.
The car was supplied with the original system but the grille beneath the rear bumper has been removed at some point.

What is the part called as i'm having trouble sourcing one and i think it'll finish off the back end.

As it is now i'm told, "It looks like all it's bits are on show" according to my mum

Exhaust grill mate. It will need welding back in place though, it's part of the car.

If yout talking about the grill between the exhaust tips, its part of the body work - it would have either been bent up flush under the bumper, or cut off.

If its cut off, only way of getting one would be off another car i think.

You need a good welder (and a second hand grill) to reattach it.

It's one massive part:

I would double check it hasnt been "folded" up out of the way befre you do anything.

I fold mine for the "return to stock" reason :thumleft:

Cheers, just off outside to see if it's hiding under the bumper still. Would be nice.

No luck. It was chopped off.

Plus, just unwrapped the exhaust and it's stamped POWERFLOW on the central silencer and has rods for hangers whereas the one i have fitted has plates with bolts through and into rubber housed mountings.

Is the POWERFLOW a standard Rev3 Turbo back box?

No, powerflow make custom exhausts.

Looks like i'm going to have to fabricate something to hang the thing.
Should be a damn site quieter than the system fitted at the minute.
I'll post some pics here of the two incase someone's mounted similar.
