dash warning lights!

Post by mosguido »

hey all,

Just a quick one hopefully. Just recently my mk1b (my daily one) decided to start with an alternator squeal. Havent tightened it or anything yet or checked it, but a few days after that started, if i rev the car (slowly or at WOT) past 4500rpm two dash lights will come on. It wont come on before i hit circa 4500, does it in all gears.

the lights that come on are the red battery light and the left most warning light (i think its supposed to be engine bay cooling fan light..).
i have no overheating issues, havent checked fan.

Just wondering, is this likely to be due to the alternator squeal or a separate issue. it only happens above 4500 rpm, car performance is the same and car drives and revs just fine otherwise.

if its the alternator ill sort that this weekend wit new belt or whatevers needed, just wanna make sure its not something else.

Yep, They're the warning for the alternator too.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.
