[Mk2] [Generic] Replacing cable between aerial and headunit

Post by rev3gtturbo »

How easy it is to replace the audio cable between the aerial and the head unit? Has anyone done it?

Over the years I have replaced the aerial and the head unit and the speakers. Sound quality is great on cd. Radio reception quality is variable on the local and national stations I listen to. The old frequency band converter was removed when the jdm headunit and speakers were changed by a proper installer.

The earths were checked ok and also the connection between the aerial and audio cable and between the audio cable and head unit.
The installer of the headunit/speakers tried one of their test aerials in my aerial connector and it didnt make much difference so at the time they said its not worth buying a new aerial. Connector was also cleaned.

I reckon the only thing left is the cable between the aerial and headunit...
so how easy is it to replace this?... I might get around to it this year.
Is it one continous cable or will it go through connector blocks spread around the car?

thanks
