[Mk2] [Turbo] mr2 rev2 engine into rev3 gt4
how much work is involved and what parts are involved to change a rev2 mr2 engine into a rev3 gt4? any help is appreciated

By rev 3 gt4 do you mean st205?

If so isn't that going backwards, less power, paper head gasket, worse turbo, a head that doesn't flow as well??

well no iv got a fully forged rev2 engine at about 400bhp and precision 5431 turbo so its near brand new and it seems a shame to part with it when its done near no miles so im going to put it in a gt4st205 so i was wondering what parts and involvement was involved as far as i knew it was just a rev2- rev3 wiring conversion

Rev 1/2 SW20 is gen 2 3SGE and ST205 is gen 3 3SGTE so outwardly this seems a bit of a backward swap.
If you're putting it back into an ST205 there would be a fair bit of reverse engineering though I'd imagine the mechanics would suit somewhere.
It seems a shame to do it though.
It's certainly not just a wiring swap, then I'm not sure what the ST185 charge cooler woild need to swap into an ST205 chassis
-never been done I think.
Most st205'er owners
(ex one myself) like their gen 3's so not sure why you think a gen 2 would be better even if you have one spare.

You might need to get a scrap 3sgte from a st185 GT4 for some bits and pieces.
I did it the other way around st205 to mr2.
I needed a new crank pulley, cam belt cover, water inlet pipe and outlet housing.
If you are using the chargecooler
, you would need the st185 throttle body too.
Cant remember what else off the top of my head
