[Mk2] [Generic] Active speaker system. How any amps are in the loom?

Are there 3 or 4 (im talking about the double sub set up with one behind each seat.

What year is the car, early cars had one amp for all 4 door speakers near the passenger seatbelt location, and 1 amp each for the Subs, later cars had 1 amp per speaker if I remember correctly.

i broke a rev3 with 2 subs and it had 4 amps, 2 on each side by the seatbelts

Thanks for the replies. Im looking to put the active subs into my non active car. So I need the whole loom, I was hoping the connectors would already be in the car, but they probably will need fitting and I havent looked behind the seatbelt unit yet!

Replacing the whole loom sounds like a lot of effort, also is it easy to find the OEM amps etc? No reason you couldnt use aftermarket stuff to power them.
