Thinking or returning to the MR2 scene

Post by Rory »

Hi guys - It's been a while..... Lots of new names on here that I dont recognise - Ive been away from the MR2 scene for a few years now - Thinking of returning and finding a nice Rev3+ Turbo - Would like t-bar in black. Will keep my eye on the for sale section here and ebay. PM me please if anyone is thinking of selling their motor.

Last MR2 was Rev 2 and had some good mods taking to 280bhp at the wheels. Last fast car was Evo 8 running 380bhp and the same torque. Evo has now sold and ive been driving a range rover the the last year. Now im looking at something with a bit of speed again

Any of the old skool guys still around that remember me?

Lol Jim. Nice to see IMOC is still as friendly as ever!

Kris - My evo was quick. After exhaust, fuel pump and remap on stock ecu with switchable maps it was transformed. Way quicker than my MR2 in the straights. I could also take roundabouts and lanes whilst accelerating at full throttle without the worry of spinning out. You should be able to get about 380bhp on an evo 7 with less than 1k on parts/mapping. Wish I had never had sold the evo now but I did. Can't justify spending 10k plus at the moment on another good evo 8 so I'm turning back to an MR2 for fun.

Thanks man - I plan to buy something with stage 1 mods already. Not planning on spending thousands this time round.

Got a very nice Rev3 lined up to view this sat - Fingers crossed it will be as good as I think it should be. I may be a MR2 owner again very soon :thumleft:

Well i picked up the motor tonight - Drove back all the way in the rain along the M25 with a massive grin on my face - A few little things to get checked out by Skywalker at some point but it drives well. A real credit to previous owners who have been club members - Some of you may notice it as Brys old car. I have seen a lot of MR2s over the years and there arent many in this condition. Very good. Piccies below from Bry on here. Will give it a polish at some point over next few weeks and get some new photos on my profile. I'm now officially back in the MR2 world and looking forward to meeting up with some of you guys in the future.
