What's a Rev3 engine/ancillaries worth nowadays?

Post by greeny »

I've a full rev3 engine with ancillaries etc that a friend wants to swap out his tired rev1 engine with, but i'm unsure of what they're going for nowadays?

Anyone bought/sold one recently?

Cheers.

NA or Turbo?

I've bought full NA's for £120 / £150, I did ask a trader on here for one and was asked £400  ...all rev 3, all having covered the usual 80k miles....Jason's offered me a rev4 for £200...so I'd say £150 to £200 dependent on condition, maybe more for a really good one...

I've seen turbo engines up for as much as £1.5k+, although there is one in the classifieds for £2.5k

In fairness it does come with a few more bits- box, shafts, etc....but yes- you could have wheels, shell and seats as well for that much

So what is everyone paying for a good rev3 turbo setup then?

Obviously i'l be doing it cheaper than most as its to a friend, but dont want to go too dear/cheap etc.

Between £1000-£1500 would seem a fair price I think.

£2500:shock:

you can have my whole rev 3 car for that with mods putting out about 280-290 bhp with Recaros, AVCR and staggered 8" and 9" enkei RP01's
Bodyworks a bit scruffy though but still has MOT and not much rust.

I bought a rev 3 engine with turbo and manifolds, but no ancillaries or gearbox for £400 a year or so ago. Sold it for about the same. Bought a rev3 head for £150 recently. Not sure what it's worth now, I guess its worth what someone is prepared to pay (not £2500 )
