[Mk2] [Turbo] AVC-R vs Gizzmo IBC

Post by sjm1984 »

Has anyone used the Gizzmo boost controller on their tubby?

Good or bad experiences?

I know the AVCr is a well complexed boost controller but the gizzmo looks like a plug and play easy to set up controller unlike the avcr.

If you had the choice to use either of the 2 above, what would it be and why?

I have an avcr...I installed it myself in a few hours...piece of cake to use.
Set how much boost you want and turn the injector duty cycle up/down untill you've achieved it...I have never felt the need to mess about with ne-points and trying to achieve a "boost curve"...foot down...lots of boost.
It also has the abillity to monitor/display 1 or 2 functions at the same time, I have mine set to show me boost and rpm...also gives you the peak amounts that you've hit so you can see if your over/under boosting without having to take your eyes off the road...lots of other 2'ers use them so it's easy to find out info on them.

As above AVCR does everything you need and more basic setup works great on mr2 as you dont need to set rpm boost limit as it isnt a crappy front wheel drive car that can't put its power down :thumleft:

The gizzmo is good stuff.

I had one before the turbosmart and I liked it.

I've also owned an AVC-R when I had a normal 3SGTE
