Hi i was wondering if anyone can help on my issue regadin top feed fuel injectors on a rev2????
ive recently bought a HKS top fed fuel rail which was for a rev3, being a good price i bought it thinking it would fit, i also bought a set of sard 800cc top feed injectors.
My problem is that the injectors dont fit in the rail or the head??? do i need collors/adapters and where do i get them???

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Hi,
i dont think rev 3 rails fit a rev 2 head,
the fixing locations are different,
or at least they are on mine.(mine being a rev 3 head)
I have a rev2 wolfkatz with delphi 870 injectors which fit ,
i also have a rev 3 obx rail which the delphi injectors dont fit .
It is confusing,so im interested if anyone has the answer
steve.
p.s:
i think some are 11mm and some 14mm,measure the holes on the underside of your rail where your injectors slot into.
i tnink delphi are 14mm andthe obx takes 11mm
not sure on hks or sard.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
rev3 rail on fit rev1/2 head...
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Right the fuel rail doesn't line up so is now back up for sale lol. As for the injectors, I don't know how they fit into the head as the original are sidefeed and sit inside the fuel rail which sits in the head??? Do I use the existing fuel rail just to mount the injectors???
Cheers for your help

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
sorry not sure on that
pretty sure only sidefeed injectors will fit in a stock rail (which is sidefeed)

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Does that mean that you can only use sidefeed injectors on a rev 2 and can not change them to top feed?
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
i would have thought it depends on the fuel rail..
you can get top feed rails for the rev1/2 also im sure of it.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Do you know if you need injector collors or adapters of somesort to fit the injectors in the head? Or have I just got the wrong injectors? They was listed as "mk2 injectors" didn't state rev and I didn't bother asking.
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
some uprated injectors come with adapters/collars
am not sure with your particular injectors tho..
hopefully someone will come along with a bit more info, lol

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Ok my standard injectors are definately sidefeed and mine is a rev 2, I thought rev were the ones which were top feed?
Found and website called ninjapower and they sell the collars for the injectors. Dunno if people know with site or not. Any reviews?

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
As per the last post, the rev 2 rail standard is side feed, and no way will top feed injectors work. You can get top feed rails for rev 2 and 3, I thought they were not inter-changable, but if people say they are, I'm probably wrong.
Complete Wolfkatz top feed sets are about £600 and from what I've been told, you don't really need it unless you are breaking 500BHP.
You'd also probably consider Aeromotive FPR and other mods pushing you over £1k if breaking 500horsies.

Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Ok thanks again for the info, I'm planning to get as close to 600hp as possible. Also do I need twin fuel pumps or is one good enough????
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
I'm not really qualified to answer that, but Ive been advised dual walbro in tank for that power. I'm gonna try for 450 on stock rev3 fuelling and sard 800 side feeds
Re: [Mk2] [Turbo] Top feed fuel injectors
Oh and a single walbro.

you can cut the ends off a stock rail and use those as adapters. i run a 3SGE top feed rail (used to run a 5SFE) with WRX injectors modded to flow about 900cc/min and just used the old stock rail to make adapters to mount to the head.

A wolfkatz rail does seem your best option.
You can pick them up for cheap in the states.
And if you want 600... a single Bosch 044 should cope with that.
