MK2 Rev2 Turbo

Post by theonetowatch »

Hi Everybody

I've been slaving away fitting a coolant pump only to find an oil leak from my inlet camshaft on the cam pulley end. I have removed the cam cover and the cap finding no seal just some channels and some pressed inserts in the bolt holes. Can anybody elaborate.

Thanks in advance
Alan

The cam shaft oil seals often go on these cars. They're on the end of the camshaft behind the cam pulleys.

These are them:

And the tool for inserting them...

Hope that helps,
Ant

Also you might want to use a more specific subject for the topic in future, could get answers quicker if needed. :thumleft:

Oh right! I had my head refurbished a year ago and they obviously decided it wasn't required as I haven't got one at all! Thanks for the pic and links they really helped. I was scratching my head for a while then.

You might want to speak to them and mention it to them. Shocking workmanship if you ask me.

I will they were both missing. I only gave it to the guy because it needed cleaning properly. Valves looked well seated but I think I'll give it a good going over before firing it up. Its taken me three years to get this far!

Thanks again
