"Gordon" my red MR2

Post by Goldy »

As per title.... after a 3 year drought i've finally got another one .... its a Rev 3 auto in red (the fastest colour). My plan is to build a kit to convert it to flappy paddle tiptronic geabox :thumleft:

Anyhoose it's been a long time since i've been on, who's still around? Are there any meets going on in the northwest?

Here's a couple of piccys.... i'll take some proper ones once i've given it a clean!

Is there a "How-To" for putting a foglight in the rear clusters?

Finally given "gordon" as he's affectionaly known (by lady G) a good clean over the bank holiday, this was a good days worth of polishing with a buffer, super resin polish and then finished with autoglym super gloss sealer.... I think its come out pretty well!

Red brick removed!

Also fitted the plasma dials that were sitting around in the boot... it's soo good to finally be able to read the speed in MPH!

Been off work yesterday afternoon and today, finally got round to fitting a new thermostat on "Gordon" and doing a full coolant change so my car finally warms up which might improve the fuel economy a little!

Today, I whipped off the old wheels which are looking rather tired and whilst the wheels were off I cleaned and painted the calipers in good old hammered metalflake black.

The sad xxxxxx that I am I even polished the wheel nuts whilst they were off.... and actually they look about 1000 times better than they were!

Anyhows here's the before and after shots :

Today I have replaced all of the dash, centre tunnel, plastic trim parts and carpets with some nearly new parts kindly donated by Paul Woods :thumleft: The old stuff was mostly cracked, painted silver quite badly and had holes in it all over the place. The carpet I took out was actually grey and mingin from being smoked in. All much better now \:D/
