Newbie with question about replacement doors and spoiler

Post by TJS »

Just like to start by saying Hello all

I have just purchased at NA ,UK, GT T bar 1992 Zircon blue MK2 (Rev 1?). Its suffering a little tin worm as many of them seem to. I'm thinking of replacing the doors (I dont need the glass, card etc) as I think this may be more cost effective than having them sprayed. Also may replace the spoiler as it appears to be bubbling a little. The car was priced accordingly and is a little bit of a project as I'm intending to do a bit of track work once shes all up together.

I have placed an add in the wanted section, I've also been looking on ebay and found a Zircon Blue MK2 G Limited would the doors and spoiler from this be a direct replacement? (is the G limited an import?)

Also and I have done a search for this ](*,)

Is there any how to's avaliable to tackle rust in the rear arches? This is the first think I plan to tackle to get her ready for her MOT.

One final thing

Is Zircon blue a hard colour to source?

Thanks in advance :thumleft:

Hiya fella and welcome to IMOC. Doors are interchangeable and spoilers likewise (from the same revs.. different rev spoilers have different fixing points).
As for colour I'd say yours is a rarer one but there should be one or two being broken if you keep your eyes open in the classifieds. Import or UK will make no difference to fitment.
As for rust I cheated and took mine to the bodyshop but I'm sure you'll find good info will be along here in a while. Meanwhile well done on the purchase, I hope you'll enjoy it and have a lot of fun. They're great reliable, involving cars if you care for them.
