Polishing out front spoiler?

Post by Grendel »

Just managed to damage my new Mk1 only had it a week. Some tit was parked halfway across my drive entrance so had to swing wide to get in only to scrap all along the bottom of the front spoiler on the concrete curb which being a mica blue car shows just a tad with white scrapes and scratches any ideas how or what to use to polish it out if it will?

And before anyone thinks it yes the car does need a wash.

How deep are they?

cheapest potential solution is possibly either some colored polish or one of the wax 'chip sticks' from halfords that look like a lipstick, but are actually a waxy coloured substance for building up scratches.

Neither option is permanent, but both are cheaper than either a respray or a replacement spoiler in the same colour.

Try a bit of TCUT it works suprisingly well on scrapes like that.

Unless it's T-Cut that comes in an aerosol can that's been mixed to 3E8 colour code, I doubt it'll do much good! that's down to base material, not a surface scratch.

Same thing happened to me two years ago, although it was the reverse situation... I had been blocked in my drive and had to get out VERY urgently, so I called the Police. They promptly, found the owner and then arrested her and lifted the car on to a low loader and taken away. Unfortunately I never found out why they decided to take such drastic action!
