[Mk2] [NA] hks mushroom

Post by sam_bilbie »

Ive got a hks mushroom filter to put on my mr2 just wondering if its worth the hassle though, its originally off a supra so ive got hold of an adapter to fit it onto the inlet but i was speaking to a friend and he reckons i'll need to put a better cold air feed in because of the heat and drill holes in the hks pipework to put in the sensors, has anyone already fitted one of these kits and is it worth it? thanks.

Standard box works fine.

Air filters just make it sound nice :)

The mushroom ones require cleaning and re-oiling every few thousand miles

I dont think the mushroom ones are designed to be cleaned/reused anymore, certainly the last few ones ive had are dry/disposable type.

K&N and Apexi are oilable/washable AFAIK.
