nope Jap and Uk spec cars or the same revision are exactly the same!

Rev 1/2 158bhp
Rev3 onwards 174ish Bhp

put it this way i've been up against a standard Rev 2 Turbo and it woooped my ar$e and my car is in good shape!
He must have been in safe mode!

If you did indeed race any rev tubby and keep up then that tubby isn't well at all my friend =; I have owned both the 173bhp N/A and a Rev3 tubby that started life completely standard and I can tell you first hand that the N/A MR2 is no match for any revision Turbo'd 2!

This has been covered sooo many times
It's not economically feisable(spelling???) to turbo you're engine (3SGE) when there is a perfectly good drop in replacement for it from the turbo model (3SGTE)

I re-state my original comment.....the tubby you raced isn't healthy. Any Rev tubby would murder an N/A!

Like said above...it would cost far to much and offer very little gain to slap a turbo onto the 3SGE engine that you have now. You would gain far more by fitting the 3S-GTE lump as it would be more tunable and also cost less into the bargain :D

Only the later revised MR2's (after the Rev3's, 173bhp) had 168bhp which was due to tighter emmission laws as I remember it. As for 0-60 of under 7 sec's....again no i'm afraid. I believe only the BEAMS MR2 which was an N/A that had 200bhp dipped into the 6's!

Sorry mate but your source is incorrect #-o
