Thinking of respraying the black front splitter on my rev 1 to match the colour of the rest of the car. Last time I did some interior parts long ago, and used a how to guide in max power, and they come out great. I have long chucked out that mag though so does anyone know of a decent online guide to respraying plastic parts or have any advice?
Thanks
start by flattening the lip down to take the shine off it 800 grit wet and dry paper also will get rid of any silicon based prouducts like black to black as your paint wont take otherwise,
then go over it with 1000 - 1200 grit wet and dry then give it a good wash, i then would go over it with a clean cloth with some thinners on it to remove any last particles, then you need to spray it with plastic primer halfords spray cans are good a bit expensive but have a good finish, just build up the coats dont go mad, you then need to spray the colour same thing build up coats leave it 10 mins between coats, i then leave painted parts to dry over night then next day i apply the laquer this part his hard because you cant really see where your painting and you can get runs if your not carefull again build up the coats. then leave it a good couple of days to harden off then you can polish it up.
job done hope this may help.
she's all comming together nicely now after a fair bit of cash spent, not bad for just an n/a now for some body kit i think.
