Quite funny how they justify themselves being slower 'I'd rather have a BMW...German engineering...they still look crap...' /Nelson/Ha ha./Nelson/ You've spent more money and you are SLOWER. So just don't try to justify it losers!

- I saw an MR2 at AA pushing over 500hp from Toyomoto. They have great possibilities... but it's no BMW.

:-s :-# [-(

No it isnt a bmw with a fat xxxx sitting in front

- Really, it doesn't matter. German is best.

Actually no Japanese is best hmmmm

- For some reason you never see a "fast" MR-2. (Not to say that they're slow or anything.) I mean there are a couple quick ones that run low..low 11's or so but I have not seen one run single digit ET's like turbo Honda's

Meh , but then thats not german thats a japanese honda

Its funny how BMW drivers like to buy over priced cars becauce they have so many fancy devices on the car, tons of features and are amazing mechanical machines yet most of them dont know how to use that simple device called an indicator !!

My mate used to have an E36 M3...the 286bhp 3.0 one. I had a go in it, was not impressed. Slow and soggy handling. I've smoked a couple even when mine was almost stock

He had a go in mine, was frankly scared by how much quicker it was...not that he expected anything else or thought his car would be better...it was just quite an eye opener for him  .

You've gotta remember though, in the States the whole car status thing is a load more intense than over here...there Jap stuff is really looked down upon as the cheapo option and if you have a European car then you're the dog's b0ll0x  .

I think it funny how the post in the BMWOC is exactly the same as what is said in this club, but the other way round.

Pot, kettle etc.

Err how about a BMW-ENGINED car? The McLaren F1!! ;)

Also, the new M5 is SERIOUSLY quick, and carries 4. It also beats the latest Ferrari F430 in all departments.

Guys, each to their own. BMW *do* build quick everyday cars. It's just that we can quite easily tweak ours to be quicker, and for a lot less money!

One race I'd like to see on track is between an M3 CSL and a nicely modded Mk2 tubby. Hmmm, would like to see Jonno's one do this! ;)

just down to personal preference really isnt it, you can not worry about it and get on with life or you can act like a chump.

Quite right mate, at the end of the day I considered BMWs a fair bit before I bought the MR2, glad I didn't in the end (after trying my mate's) because the performance/cash ratio is lame in comparison. However if I was doing a load of motorway miles the M3 would have been a much more palatable proposition.

Either way, we were both happy with our choices which is the important thing.
