Urgent help needed!!

Post by Chr15py »

Evening.
Basically I recently have had to change the spark pack on my rev3 turbo as it has split badly and so was causing problems in anything but dry weather.
I got a new one today so have been WD40ing the old one to get it off the bracket that holds it and the igniter together. The problem is I just cant get it off!!!!

Now, is this mount important - an earth mount?? If not, I can mount them somewhere a little more covered and away from possible damp using other methods.

Have got an MOT tomorrow so this needs to be done tonight.....

Many thanks in advance
Chris

If you mean the coil pack by the fusebox, im not sure if it is an earth mount, but if you disconnect the connectors for the igniter and coil, and remove the two bolts, it should just come out, and then you can unscrew the old coil pack, and attach the new one.

How much did you pay for the new one?

hey.

The problem I have is that it is so badly corroded that the machine screws attaching it to the bracket are useless. Has be WD40ing for hours now. This is why Im asking if the bracket it important.....will it work without it?
Got it for 30+vat from Rogue

Can you drill the screws out? I'm not sure of the arrangement so don't know if they go into anything delicate.

If I remember correctly, when my friend changed his coil pack thingy we had to drill the bolts out of the mount and then we reused the mount.
