How the hell do I get it off

Post by newmr2owner »

rev 1 interior mirror, disappears inside the cover with the interior lights built in it on the roof and I assume this needs to be removed to change the mirror.

How do I get it off??

I have been pulling on the cover as there are no visible fixings and it just feels like its gonna snap off. Do I just need to be brave and pull??

Cheers

Pretty much, it's got 2 clips on each long edge. Just bend it a bit and it'll release. It does feel quite stiff the first time (ooer!)

most of the interior needs a good pull to get it off, even when all screws (if applicable) have been removed. Don't be scared. If you break it, there are plenty of spares/breakers on here. :thumleft:

ON THE FRONT LEADING EDGE NEAREST THE WINDSCREEN APPROX 5MM IN FROM EACH END THERE IS A PUSH BACK CLIP EACH SIDE, SLIDE IN A SMALL TAPED SCREWDRIVER OR BETTERSTILL A SIXINCH STEEL RULE AND PUSH TOWARDS THE REAR 3/4MM TO RELEASE EACH SIDE. I REASSEMBLED THE MIRROR AFTER MAKING MY OWN RUBBER GASKET TO STOP THE CREAKING HOPE THIS HELPS.
