finally got her ready for the mot and she p1$$ing failed ,,, just need some advice :

it failed on nearside steering arm movement at its fixings

nearside/ offside front shock absorbers knackered,,,

im in two minds wot to do ,,, do i replace the hole steering rack ,,, or just that arm with 2nd hand parts

and the front shocks ,,, buy a 2nd hand pair ,,,, but i have 2 yellow billies but one is knackered ,,,

problem i got im on a tight budget only a couple of hundred pound :( :(

The cure to steering rack play is to replace the inner joint. I did a pretty indepth description here:

The joint only costs about £30-40, really not advisable to used a second hand unit. For a start you don't know how long it'll last....

I have just replaced my yellow billies as the n/s front was leaking. I have a good o/s front if your interested :)
