[Mk2] [Turbo] rear calipers

Post by neilo666 »

hi

ive recently noticed that my rear brake pads are always touching the disc, and are making a squealing noise wherever I go. So I phoned up the nearby garage and he said that the rear calipers are probably nackered and i'll need new ones. But then i read on here that its just a seized up pin or something?

any help would be appreciated

The pads on the rears have metal clips fitted which squeal against the disc when the friction material is nearly worn away. Could be this.

See:

The second photo shows the clips. the last photo shows the pads in situ.
