When i get mine, i shall be going TPF&T, as it will be about £1k a year.
I'm 20, will be 2years NCB (touch wood  ).
The Fully Comp would have been about £3.5k.

Go fully comp, have a crash, claim. Then spend the next few years cursing inflated car insurance premiums, wishing you'd have gone TPFT and paid for the damage repair yourself as it would've worked out cheaper in the long run.
Mk2 NA Rev1 -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev2 -*- Mk1 NA -*- Mk2 Turbo Rev 3 = all gone!

23, SP30 3 points, 5-6 yrs NCB, Fully comp with protected NCB, mods declared - £1,150 through Adrian Flux
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

Not MR2 T, but...
26, 8 years no claims, 0 points, import Supra TT - £720 fully comp with Elephant (good places in the past for cheap quotes with various 'hot' cars of mine have been: Adrian Flux, Performance Direct, Barclaycard(!) and Tesco).

If the car is over a certain value, some insurers won't even entertain the notion of TPFT insurance... most say £5k or £6k.

Thanks for your help so far guys.

TPFT would mean Rev 3, Fully Comp would mean Rev 2, which is why I'm asking this question.

Keep the votes and comments coming.

Thanks again.

sorry disagree
go TPFT as only 1k
chance for fully are ( 3.5K), they will write ur car off anyway, why not safe yourself 2.5k and buy another one (worest come to worest)
TPFT for you , you know it make sense

Which is why unless the car is totally smashed to pieces it's not worth claiming. With people like Patrick around, getting replacement parts is massively easier and cheaper than sticking a claim in.

Fully comp is an extra £750 for me. Otherwise, I will be paying 1200 TPFT. Definately something to consider for a Rev 3.

I went to Bell Direct and got the Following quotes:

My MR2 (with mods Declared 400(ish BHP) = TPFT £1460
1996 Supra Twin Turbo worth £10000(standard) = Fully Comp £1500
Celica GT-4 1994 ST205 = Fully Comp £1500
Porsche 911 Turbo 1996 = Fully Comp £2400
Subaru Impreza Turbo 2000 = Fully Comp £3400
Mitsi Evo 6 1998 = Fully Comp £3600

I am 22 with 2 YNC with a M33 Postcode, and all Fully COMP estimates are with a 250.00 XS :D

SUPRA TWIN TURBO FOR £1500.00 : :D :D :D

i went fully comp as i wanted the little extras you get on fully comp. like a replacement car if i bu88er it up on another roundabout :D

i'm 22 with 2 years NCB paying £1032 (pay'd all in 1 payment as monthly is a damn rip IMO!) which aint to bad :)
my car is a pretty standard rev2 turbo

my old MK1 was fully comp but was worth about the same as a pack of fags and a mars bar so shoulda gone third party really :) was only £375 on my MK1 anyway though :p

i say fully comp if you car is worth more than £3k otherwise third party

Lucky I'm 22 then.. Definately some good views on the advantages/disadvantages of both types of cover, but I'm still undecided :?.

Probably go down the safe route and choose fully comprehensive, (peace of mind and all). :D.
