Not sure what you have seen/read about changing the CV boot but its not a challenging task.

1) Disconnect the battery negative terminal

(in true haynes manual fashion)
2)Secure the car on axle stands then remove the split pin and hub nut on the offending side.

3)Using a 12mm ratchet spanner remove the 6 bolts that secure the CV cup to the output flange on the gearbox.

Carefully feed the whole driveshaft unit out from under the car

(it is quite a tight squeeze.

4)Cut off the CV clips and slide boot down driveshaft, this will allow the outer cup of the CV to be removed, wash off the old grease with petrol or solvent.

5)On the now exposed tripod/bearings of the CV joint you should see a spring clip retaining the tripod onto the shaft, remove the clip and then the tripod.

6)It is then a case of pushing on a new boot, replaceing the tripod and clip, pack the joint with fresh moly grease and fit new boot clips.

7)Refitting of the driveshaft unit is easy just remember to use thread lock on the output flange nuts.
