New guy, just saying hello

Post by Chown »

Hi all,

I've bought a Mk1b to do some track days and just wanted to say what a great car it is! I never realised how effective it would be around a track. It surprised many Imprezzas, BMW's etc etc.

Its not as if its cost me much either... £500 car, stripped out, springs, 4 wheel alignment, brakes, seat and harness, cheap air filter, oil catch tank and probably quite importantly a set of Toyo R888's (quick comment - these tyres are very good, excellant grip and very progressive not at all like I'd read. Not very hard wearing though obviously!).

This seems like a great forum and has it been of great help even in my first few weeks of ownership

Thanks

Any questions and queries regarding anything Mk1 related just make a post in this Mk1 section.

Any spare part requirements etc, use the items wanted/forsale sections..

There are a fair few track day mk1'ers on here, including the 'trackday queen' herself!

Welcome to IMOC and enjoy your Mk1! :thumleft:

Hello! :thumleft:

THey are fun on track aren't they? Everyone who's driven mine has said it's a hoot.
I've got another trackday in a couple of weeks. Just got my suspension done and I'm really looking forwards to it.

Still on old tyres though... I can't bear to shell out on 888's or the like whilst I still have tread on my track day rims!
