Pod result

Post by Mark Edwards »

Well after knocking out a 12.6 yesterday in blistering heat i gave up for the day. Tried again first thing this morning but was still only managing to trap at 110mph because of the heat. Saying that i still managed to do a 12.544.

Just need a decent cool day and i reckon 12.2 or lower should be easy enough.

Nice one Mark,

Now with all this heat. This is why I thought of going for an intercooler setup for when I build up my 2. I was planning to have CO2 spray on to it to cool everything down in times like this.. Can't you and others apply something like this for the charge coolers?

Good result considering the heat.

I sprayed it on the pre-rad. Could of sprayed it straight onto the cc itself too i spose. Need a laptop to keep an eye on the intake temp before and after really.

Can't you get seperate gauges to help out?

I'm guessing the laptop is to link up to the motec though. Would the Motec record the info for access later? You wouldnt be able to drive and keep looking at the laptop.

New to this part of the modding process so sorry for my nonsence, if it is nonsence if ya see what I mean :?

Correct on both. The motec can do datalogging but it needs the features opened up on it first. All in good time, maybe for the pod in october.

Cool. Makes me want to go out and get one right now!

What does the digital motec display then?? Just normal rev/speed stuff I guess.

Looks fantastic, think it just does the job of a few gauges in a tidy consol. I know it reads direct from the motec ecu though.

Yeah, sounds a top draw piece of kit. How much are they then?? Don't tell me the same as the motec ecu though!!! LOL

So we are prob talking all the fuel pressure oil pressure, temps etc..?...

Would save having a load of gauges plastered all over the cabin though.

Pretty good result in the circumstances =D>
ALL cars were running woefully down on their capable time - although I did like to see the Millions of scoobies only get into the 14's haha

Good to meet up with you again Mark - and very impressed with how you just strolled upto the Motec Mapping GOD.. it must be good to have contacts !

Really enjoyed the day... despite only 5 MR2's on the IMOC stand - where the bl00dy hell were the rest of you !

EDIT: ps I didn't know where to look.. the cars on the strip or the women in various stages of "strip" lol.... CORRRRR !

Will do yes, just means having it sat on the seat rather than in the dash where it's easier to see.
