Need a new alternator
just been quoted£140 for used alternator and fitting

Disconnect battery, unplug alternator plug and look 
Its DIY'able, with two people its a doddle, unbolt it all pull it down, across then up between the boot and air inlet
May need to disconnet a few wires, just colour code them with sticky tape

As mentioned it is a DIY job but it really can be a pain in the backside simply getting the old one out and squeezing the new one in.
