Rev 2 Speedo, cable or electric?

Post by Ken58 »

Can someone tell me if the rev 2 speedo is a cable same as the rev 1 please?

Also, is it possible to convert from cable to electric? I'm presuming the drive comes from the gearbox, any attachment available to convert, or would I need a complete gearbox change and can this be done on rev 1 engine...and...is it worth it lol.

Rev 2 is electric, but don't know if the drives can be swapped.

Yes they can be swapped.

Are you doing a turbo conversion to a Rev 1?

Right thanks, This guy is selling a set of clocks and he says they are "Phase 2" so I'm presuming rev 2, but when I asked him to look at the back he says the round conection for the cable is there! they must be rev 1 then ??

No, not doing a turbo conversion....yet..lol but it is something I'm thinking about for later.

I've just fitted some lockwood cream dials, and I'm very satisfied with them. I just thought if I could get these cheap enough it would be handy to have a spare set.
