Yeah I rattle canned it myself as the original paintwork was full of rust, plus I thought it would look daft. The orange wingmirrors - I was just passing time lol
There was a topic not long ago on mr2oc about rusting bonnets, I'm tempted to give that go

Thats what i was thinking.I think Matt cars always look unfinished but this one looks an unfinished Matt car.
I like the smooth body panels and think you have done a good job with that but not a fan of Matt but its what you like
Re: [Mk2] [NA] mr2 matt black

Matt / Satin finish paint can look utterly awesome if done right.
Matt black rattle canned spray jobs look blotchy and crap.

If the spray job was done properly it wouldnt look too bad, but that cloudy, patchy finish looks w*nk to be fair.
Re: [Mk2] [NA] mr2 matt black
It's not everyones cuppa tea, I have a satin black mk1. Everyone I spoke to before I sprayed it was unsure how it would look. They have all changed their mind since seeing it in the metal.
My car started gloss black (dodgy blowover by previous owner) It looked rank. I couldn't afford a proffesional job so did a bit of research and did it myself.
Dan what spraying technique did you use?, as the others have said, it looks fairly patchy. Did you apply it outdoors on a hot day ? I found that satin/matt dries too quick out of the can in hot weather (dries before it hits the car) If you've decided to keep it that way, it'll need rubbing back and starting again I'm afraid.
If you need any advise/tips feel free to PM me.

my guess is a catapult
to do this properly in the trade we use satin laquer to hide blotches and dry spots.

That car looks horrific, my eyes are bleeding from looking at it. You need to sort that out. Did you get vouchers to spend in Halfords?
Re: [Mk2] [NA] mr2 matt black
maybe buy a cheap compressor and have another go?
it looks very patchy.. matt black isnt my cuppa anyway, but it can look respectable when its applied properly
