Sie repeaters

Post by speed »

I've been thinking that since the front sidlight / indicator unit curves round the front of the car if it would be possible to do a mod to it. To clean the side of the car up would it be possible to remove the side repeater and mount some sort of led's in/behind the bit of the reflector which you pop off to get at the sidelight bulb. It would shine to the side of the car so don't see why it would be a problem.

What do you think, oh and i don't plan on doing this for a few months, just toying with a few ideas at the moment.

my car has passed an MOT twice with no side indicators (plus the 2 times the other owner took it) and when I was stopped by the police for a dodgy plate they had a quick check over the car and said nothing about not having any side indicators :thumleft:

I think you may be pushing your luck to get a side repeater there, as it's really still the front indicator units.

Come MOT time depending on testing station the side repeater needs to be seen at a certain angle from the rear of the car.

I push my luck with this as I have flush mount LED toblerones. They have always passed. But to have no repeater at all is a bit much and will more than likely fail at most testing places.
