Hi mate,
I think there is a thread on this in the Knowlege base. i was only looking at the article yesterday!
Do remember seeing you had to modify the puller some how?
Good luck.

tried 2 of those already, ones broke, and the other wasnt big enough.

for anyone doing this themselves, just take the 2 suspension arms off and a few blows with the hammer is all it takes, saves messing about.

Agreed.

I use a ball joint splitter from Halfords (see type below), and the metal it was made from just bended.
Luckily I was doing poly bushes at the time so had the suspension arms off :)

Do not buy (unless you know of one that's not made from monkey metal)...

one i havent tried that...and probably won't! :)

I think the shock that the hammer creates is best anyway, slowly loosening the hold.

When mine were changed, my mate ended up knocking the old ones out with a mallet. Even then it took quite a few hefty whacks to shift them!

What a pain these were to get off. I was wacking it with a hammer and nothing, took the arm off and put it in a vice, wacked it some more and still wouldnt move, got the blow torch on it till it was glowing red and it still wouldnt move  finanlly after 5 mins it came out (thought the arm was going to melt before it came off

I had a similar problem.
Whacking it with a hammer so as to force it out of the hole often doesn't work.

Tip: Whack the suspension arm (preferably with it off the car  ) at the side where the ball joint goes through. Sounds odd, but it works :thumleft:
