just bought a tubby ! questions ?

Post by marc GT Turbo »

ive just bought a black rev 2 turbo tin top thats mint ! 52k and standard :thumleft: an older woman owned it who has passed away. i am not new to turbo cars although a complete mr2 turbo virgin

what kinda miles per gallon should i expect ?
i want to de cat and replace standard exhaust ? whats good ? do's and donts ? and i dont want the loudest exhaust either , ideas please ?
dump valve ? yes or no
panel filter or induction kit ??
should i put my 17" wheels on the car that are currently on my n/a ? handling ?
i am gonna put my rev 3 rear lights on it though without a doubt !
did rev 2 turbo's all come with abs ?
how much can i boost it up safely ?

i wont have the car on the road until begining of next month but when ive nicked some bits n bobs off my n/a then i will sell the n/a.
thanx, marc.

dump valve ? no
panel filter or induction kit ?? personal preference really
should i put my 17" wheels on the car that are currently on my n/a ? yeah why not if you like them
handling ? standard shocks should be ok at 50k odd.

how much can i boost it up safely ? on a stock intercooler, no more than 0.9 bar in my opinion.

I can only answer one of your questions,MPG.

I'm getting around 24 mpg, with a mix of very short runs to work 1/2 mile, the odd blast up to 80 and general driving.

Using Tescos super.

1) Only use superunleaded now!
2) 12psi is your limit without a FCD
3) 20-25mpg is about right

I did, and see no issues. They're not staggered, but 7.5j all round. I run 215s on the front and 235s on the back.
