So I decided to have a play at the weekend and install a game on my HDD and it is quieter I have to confess.
Is the only way to upgrade the memory (I have 20gb HDD which in reality is actually only about 10gb) to get either a 60gb or 120 gb HDD?
Or can I get an external USB HDD?

need an official ms hard drive unless u buy a 120 gig western digital drive and flash it for the 360. external drives are only for music video and pics im afraid
Re: 360 Memory Expansion Options
I looked for the 60gb one but it seems they want to sell it as a Live package, which I dont want

you can use an external, has to be FAT something or other, deffo do-able though, there was a post a while back, plus, i've seen it done. 500Gb external HD is the way forward for you.

Most of that doesnt mean anything to me as it's written in nerd speak and abbreviations.
The jist I get though reinforces H3RB's point that it'll work for music etc but not for game saves, which is the reason I wanted more capacity?

Re: 360 Memory Expansion Options
u can put any size hdd u want as an external hdd but u wont be able to store game saves, games, profiles, arcade games or anything to do with the xbox on there i can 100% gareentee it.
u can buy a western digital 120gig 2.5 sata hdd for about £40 and then flash it via pc to make the xbox think its a legit 120gig hdd. so u get a 120 gig hdd for half the price. easy to do there are loads of walk throughs and tuts on the web. its probably the cheapest option.
and before anyone asks, doing it this way will still only allow 120 gig to be used, so even if u buy a 500gig hdd u will only be able to use 120gig because your using the xbox 360s 120gig sercurity sectors.

Think I am in the same position as you Matty, want a bigger drive but dont want the headset / live thrown in.
Re: 360 Memory Expansion Options
im gonna get the 60gb bundle.
you dont have to use the Live code straight away so ill jus use it when my years up and a second headset will be handy to have.

I've already got a head set and the cables etc. Dont see the point in paying extra for stuff I already have. I hardly ever use live any way, only for demo downloads and tunes for GH etc.
