19yrs old and a hard life and you reckon it's gained 2 bhp over new? I don't think so. Got mine on the rollers about 2yrs ago and it was making 143bhp but 143lb/ft torque as well so not bad for 170,000 miles at the time. Down 15 bhp but actually up on torque. :D

rev 1 have 3s-fe engines, onwards had 3s-ge at 178bhp i think, then rev 4 and 5 have 172bhp 3s-ge, maybe not bang on the money but they are all there or thereabouts

now that i know the actual bhp figure i'd say about 130??

Highway star made 143 so on a car with a hard life prob about 130,just out of curiosity why do you need to know this???

ah i see, i've removed an engine on a rev1 before, not the worst job i've ever done, the engine and box can come out together, despite what you may be told, it's tricky but if you have a good engine lift and enough height it's do-able, which makes taking the box off and fitting it to the new engine a bit easier, then you can just plonk the new engine and box back in :thumleft:

Funny to listen people making up numbers and facts. :-).
189hp, where on earth you read that!

Uk rev1 had both a ge and fe engine model option, Fe quite rare as not many chose it.
So uk rev1 Fe 119hp or ge 158hp
Import rev1 all had the ge, so 158

Uk and import rev2, ge 158
Uk and import rev3 172 some say 173 ge
Uk and import rev4 168 ge
Uk rev5 ge 168, I can't be sure if there are 168 ge import rev5s tho, or if all rev5 imports had the beams engine.
if it did, then 199-201hp as had super rare vvti beams engine.

I'm sure i read the early 3sge engines (rev1/2 not sure when rev 2 started) were rated at 154bhp after 92 as they had cataylitic converters fitted .
