[Mk2] [Turbo] help! joining power wires inside fuel tank?

Post by stevegts »

hi, i have to change my fuel pump so i decided to fit an uprated 255l/ph pump, while trying to fit it my mechanic realised that he would have to join the power wires inside the tank which seems incredibly dangerous.

the fuel pump kit is rouge motorsports own kit not a walbro and the block connector on it is not the same as on my rev 3 tubby and the wires arent long enoughto reach out of the tank, iv tried talking to rouge but everyone who could help me is at a car show for 4 days, can anyone tell me what to do?

thanks, steve.

Solder the wires together.. Then insulate.

i did this with my old build that never got completed ](*,)
Just cut wire as short as poss but long enough not to stretch and allow for bit of play,
i then soldered and shrink wrapped the joint, then cable tied accordingly,
very easy but can understand your concern :thumleft:

Link above is great
