As tthe 2 guys above, noone can tell you whats best, everyone has a personal preference, the only way to tell what works for you is to try all the settings.

I'm even more annoyed than Chris and Tim as I forked out for a brand new set a couple of weeks ago then saw these on eBay :(

Not fitted mine yet though so I can't give any advice either.

I WILL tell you but you outbid me!

I've found with ARB's (at least on the front with different bush types) that what setting to use depends mainly on rim size and what type of ground you're driving on.

If you set them too stiff then your car will lose grip over rougher surfaces and bumps but the trade off is keeping the car level, it depends whether that kind of thing bothers you. I found that with 16 inch rims my car was skittish in this way and I had to go back to standard ARB but with 15's it's much improved no doubt because the tyre takes more of the bump.

Big ARB's are best for the track IMO but having said that the stock rear bar is really tiny.

I've got a set of these, adjustable front (and rear I think), best mod I ever made to the car. Both mine are set at the mid point at the moment, which is where I started out and to be honest I've never played with em, the car just feels OK so I haven't fiddled.

Certainly not too stiff for the road. They don't affect the ride anything like as much a stiff springs, but sooo much better through roundabouts. :D

15" rims, standard shocks and springs.

ha looks like everyone was bidding on them! not sure on a setting but the closer to the bar the stiffer the setting. id set the rear a little stiffer for oversteer biased handling or the front a little stiffer for more under steer prone handling. somewhere in the middle for both would in theory give the best balance. best bet is to go drive and see what settings work best for you.

If you're fitting both and you haven't had adjustables on before my major recommendation is you set them both the same. :) I've done the hard front/soft rear and vice versa thing and the car is never as settled as if they are the same.

I've tried different settings racing but I think the best road set up would be the middle point - it is a good compromise for different conditions. (Racing people tend to put them on hardest in the dry and softer for wet conditions, hence unless you are keen to continually fiddle I'd go with the mid-point, unless you do a track day in which case you could adjust as necessary).

Well I've just checked my IMOC garage, as I suspected I'd have stuck the details in there and it says 20mm front and 16mm rear.Too long ago to actually rememeber, but if I typed it up there that's probably right.
