A grand day out

Post by Nogg »

Did my first track day in the Mk1b yesterday at Aintree. Darn good fun it was too. Very pleased with the A539's especially last session when it rained. still
offered great grip.
Only gripe was more power needed ! Very long straight on that circuit and a few more BHP would have been nice.

Anyone turboed a 4age

Yep! Search for 4AGTE and you should get some info. There are a few people on here in the process of doing so, hopefully i'll be there in a few months time.

Get some more experience on track first before thinking about upping the power.

Tbh a stock 4AGE is plenty enough. Sure you'll be waiting for the next corner on a long-ish straight, but lets face it, corners are where the fun is. Going another 10mph down a straight is hardly that much more exciting.

Also i'd recommend if you are going to get into trackdays to look at the suspenders first.

Fun ain't it!

Just think, with the price of even the cheapest engine swap (SC swap for maybe £2000 all in) you could do probably 15 Trackdays. That's well over a years worth even if you get well into it.

My next spare £400 is going on Konis and Springs, that's for sure!

Oh yeah :D

Not my first track day ever though, did one in May double driving a friends Scirroco Scala. Mister Two was much, much better.

As for the suspension, have you checked out the USA suppliers on Ebay and the likes, much cheaper even with the postage.
Not Koni's but us mere mortals probably wouldn't notice the difference.
