Lasham Gliding Society is inviting people from across the Southern Counties to join them at its airfield near Alton on September 6th, and is planning ground and air displays, aerobatics, classic cars, stalls, vendors and at 6pm, a mass hot air balloon launch.
The event grew out of the UK Sailplane Grand Prix, being held at Lasham during the first week of September, and the club decided to build a full air show and open day around its final race. A Chinook from RAF Odiham, a 757 from DHL, a Bleriot from Brooklands Museum, classic war birds and some awesome aerobatics will be joined by almost 100 aircraft on the ground and in the air. We are adding a display of classic and vintage vehicles to the list of things to see, and the organisers of the Elvetham Heath car show suggested we contact some of its supporters.
We plan a display of around 50 vehicles, which will need to be on site by 9am on Saturday 6th and stay until 6pm when the event finishes. Admission in advance is £5 and £10 on the gate, but there will be no charge for displaying vehicles.you will need to be quick so make a decision soon and i will see how many places we can get.
