The Rev 3 onwards Tubbys have multi layer steel head gaskets so I'd torque to the values quoted for Rev 3.

I used ARP (stud and nut) head bolts when i did mine so the torque (65lbft) will not apply to standard stretch bolts.

hope this helps

Hi Spannerman,
Thanks for the info mate, I see the theres no Torque the bolts down then turn 90', is this true for the rev3 (65lbft) and no degree? as you are probley awear the rev2 require the the head bolts are torqued to 36lbft then rotated 90'.

first of all i am talking turbo here not n/a so if you have an n/a please ignore me lol

i think the confusion is that toyota didn't make a mls gasket for rev2 ,i assume you are fitting a cometic or other aftermarket brand one

yes the torque should be 35-36 lb/ft then 90 degrees

although my opinion is that the bolts are the weak point on the head gasket setup ,not the gasket .it has been proved that on std bolts the head can lift under boost ,Thus i would if fitting a steel gasket fit arp bolts too

Thanks for your reply "3SGTE".
Yes, im using a Cometec ML gasket with new ARP bolts and she's a turbo. Do you suggest that I use the Rev3 torque setting or stick with the Rev2 settings?
Would you happen to know before I add a post if its possible to get rid of the "Chaocoal Filter"?. Im very limited for space for my after market fuel pressure regulator and was thinking that the space reserved for the filter would be a good place.
